LOL you survivalists take this stuff a little to seriously. You don't have to fetish-size this stuff. There's planning and then there's obsessing. The above post written in 2011 was referring to a Mother Jones article which highlights this obsessive fixation which is probably still prevalent today among the right wing militia survivalist types.

The calculator I used was the one that they posted on huff post. The bronze plan on that one is what gave me the 7,647. That really doesn't give you much to live on. Having a problem getting your site to come up though.

Running your scenario in the calculator it seems you would still get coverage with the bronze or sliver plan and the out of pocket cost in the silver plan is not as high as the number you were using. Yeah real affordable. Just filled out their calculator. If you're 60. Make 12,000. You don't get a subsidy. Have to pay out of pocket 7,647 leaving less than 5000 the rest of the year. Thank God I'm healthly, I'll go without!

T-Mobile didn't merge with Metro PCS, they acquired them, so they are more of an "asset" than a part of T-Mobile. They operate as two different companies at this point in time.

You're right that problems like this can be addressed by we the people. I welcome government intervention because they have the economies of scale from our tax revenues but they have failed. So working outside of the government has to be an option.

Interesting post. I believe that the answer to the problems that plague society such as homelessness have to be addressed by society. It starts with people such as yourself willing to stop and listen and also all the non profits out there.

That pertains to electioneering and it depends on their nonprofit tax status. A 501 c 3 can't do much politically, they can't even refer to candidates in an election I believe. A 501 c 4 can run ads and criticize a candidate but they cannot say vote for or against a specific candidate. The Church can refer to social and economic issues but they often cut it a bit close when it comes to elections I feel.

It is ILLEGAL for an organization that does not pay taxes to involve itself in political affairs or to even discuss them. To do so, forfeits their non-tax status.

Actually what happened to Chicago's teachers is that over a thousand teaching positions were Eliminated! The TFA crowd is a small group who are here to help the seasoned journeyman teachers by bringing in hyper enthusiastic enthusiasm high achieving young adults to help the teachers of Chicago. The TFA is not scabing ANY jobs.

As a deist I get what you're trying to say. However, this graphic was created as a comparison to teenagers of color who wear "hoodies" that have been deemed thugs in the conservative media, specifically Trayvon Martin.
